The Luxury Motor Show has always supported and raised money for local charities. In 2017, the Luxury Motor Show is working with a number of charities including ‘Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People’ and ‘The John van Geest Cancer Research Centre’.
Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People
Rainbows provides respite, palliative and end of life care for babies, children, teenagers and young people from across the East Midlands who have life-shortening conditions. They also offer support to mums, dads, brothers, sisters and even grandparents – because life-limiting illnesses affect the whole family.
The John van Geest Cancer Research Centre
The John van Geest Cancer Research Centre is a unique purpose-built scientific facility in the East Midlands. Their aim is to save lives and speed recovery by improving the early diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
In 2008, the John and Lucille van Geest Foundation endowed Nottingham Trent University with a research grant of £8 million to establish a dedicated cancer research facility. Nottingham has been a focus of cancer research for over 40 years and the centre cements that legacy.
The opening of their purpose-built premises at NTU’s Clifton campus in 2010 allowed them to focus on two key approaches to the treatment of patients with cancer.
The centre’s team of dedicated and world class scientists work with state-of-the art equipment and facilities; enabling them to successfully meet the significant challenges of modern day cancer research.
